BLACK HISTORY MONTH - 1st to 31st October 2025
Disability Rights UK is a national organisation led by disabled people, providing trusted advice, information and resources. Their website offers clear, accessible guidance to help with everyday challenges, from education and work to independent living.
A wide range of factsheets and guides are available, covering important topics such as benefits, social care, health, housing and transport. These are designed to explain your rights and the support you can access in plain language.
They also run three accredited helplines, offering advice on welfare rights, independent living and disabled students. Alongside this, the benefit calculator can help you quickly check what financial support you may be entitled to.
For those in training or work, Disability Rights UK supports accessibility through initiatives such as the Disabled Apprentice Network, and for younger people they host the Get Ahead platform, a space to share experiences, opportunities and creative talent.
Students can also access practical information on specific issues, such as the Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Blue Badge scheme, heating and housing help, and the Work Capability Assessment. There is even an archive of case law, showing how disability rights have been upheld over the years.
